When I worked at Capital City Distribution back in the mid nineties during the whole variant cover, non-sport card inserts, multiple covers, foil covers. Some of us were pretty fed up with this whole speculator concept and wanted to see what the retailers would do if we put out some "special" solicitations. Most of the old school shop owners knew better [but] it was the new speculator "shop owners" actually thought these were real. Thanks to R ED Duensing for most of the text, it was a fun time.
